12/05/2003 Entry: "12-05-03 snowy"

So I haven't posted in over a month, hell almost two, so I am not going to try to catch anyone up. My life has been pretty much consumed by work and plagued by lack of DSL. The DSL has been down in my house for four weeks I think, I'm not even sure. It would be up for ten minutes here and there but I could never get anything done except occasionally check my email to delete my spam. Even worse my access at work still hasn't been installed, three months and counting. I'm sure I am just writing for myself here as no one is going to check a blog that hasn't been updated in two months, especially of someone who has been able to go to only two poetry events in the last two months, one being acentos and the other being the AAWW poetry festival. I feel very out of touch and out of sync with the scene, maybe that is why those few days that I might have been able to make it out to a mic, I chose to linger in my house and eat. I hope to change that in the New Year, jesus how could a new year already be on top of me. Ahh well.

It is snowing today and I am glad for that, although all of my boots have holes so I will probably bust my ass trying to get to Ray's house in sneakers. So what, I'll be glad to see Ray and Oscar and stuff. I'm loving today and loving the blinding snow. Fat flakes coming down like mash potato mix. Got out of work early since they cancelled after school programs for today. I know I must be doing somwthing right cause none of the kids waiting outside pelted me with snowballs, I almost wanted them to so I would have a reason to join in the across the street war they were having in front of the school. Damn I miss the internet when I don't have it. It's really terrible how I don't pick up the phone to call anyone, instead I just rely on email. I'm going to try not to do that, as much. More later.

Yeah, full house straight off the deal, kings over jacks....I RULE!!! I'm glad there are people who are willing to spend a night making up ridiculous card games...all my non-poet friends just laughed at me when I told em about the game. Also, thanks for the chapbook....I really enjoyed reading it. Question: In the poem "Ontology" is that really the origin of the word gringo? Just curious...Matt

DSL blows. Go Cable Internet and cell phone, my friend, and dump Verizon completely!
