05/30/2004 Entry: "its been morth than a month"

Its been more than a month and a half since i have posted. at this rate I would only have posted eight times a year. Thats pathetic. It hasn't been because there haven't been things going on, its really beacuse I have been lazy and stressed out. I know you say What better way to get out your stress than on the web but I guess I just haven't been thinking about it. I guess its because If i write about everything it will make me realize my fears about how everything is going by so fast. Everything these days seems to jumble, I rarely know what day it is. I thinnk events that happened months ago happened that week and events that happened that week happened months ago. Its an odd start to summer.
Let me recap some of the events that I remember from the past month and a half I might not remember some and they will probably be out of order. I'll start with the most recent first.
I went to the tribes gallery reading yesterday for One of Ishle's book release parties. I haven't been in that space in a long time, years maybe. It was cool. Chanaka, Taiyo, and Omar read good sets and then Ishle performed a great set. It was a little crowded. Then many of us went to Mama's down the block which was pretty good, although kind of expensive.

two days before that I went to the book launch for Ishle's book at AAWW. It was packed with a hundred and twenty people and she read a mix of poems and songs. She sold a ton of books so yaay for her.

Me and Jeannie went to Atlanta last week. We went to visit a friend of mine, Ladynez who is a doctor there. It was a lot of fun. We went to the Coke Museum which was not as cool as it looks on Food network, and out to eat a lot. Particularly good was this place called sunflower cafe. Good vegetarian cuisine, although food in Atl is kind of expensive. Then we went to six flags over Atlanta. We had such a good time. Rode all of the major roller coasters. My two favorites were the Batman ride and the superman ride not because of their comic book ties but because they were so different from regular coasters. Batman has no floor, so your feet dangle and we rode in the first car so it felt like you were just being thrown around, especially when it went upside down and you were just staring at the sky. It was hot. Then the superman ride is really different. It inverts you so that you are sitting horizontal to the floor. The whole time you are looking at the ground. This is great because it kind of makes you feel like flying, your whole field of vision is the ground so that there are no visual reminders that you are on a ride. The tracks are above you, and the ride is behind you it felt like being launched out of a cannon. I highly recommend it, by the way it is also available at Great adventure in our own back yard. Lets go.
I'll write more later.
