08/13/2004 Entry: "is anyone still there?"

I have probably discouraged most of you from reading this after not updating for so long. For whoever is still reading this. Sorry, there has been so much going on with me that it always seems daunting to blog about any one thing. That's not an excuse, I was still reading everyone else's blogs, and I would sit down to blog and nothing. Why, I don't know. Perhaps it is because other people are always so poigniant or funny, or whatever. I just can't seem to make this more than a what I did list.
I am sitting right now in an office that I am renting with Omar in midtown, its just for my writing, and some other projects, mostly film stuff. I think that I am getting stuff done because there is no TV here. There is internet , but that gets boring after a while. So I have done so much stuff that I had been putting off. It is amazing.
Other than that we still have not bought a house, still looking but nothing is coming up. We might just wait a while and see how things work out.

I also just finished having a conversation with Travis from the Hawaii slam team, who is setting up a line up for a "not in our name" event on Friday Aug 20th at 6pm. It looks like I will be performing and I am going to get him in contact with other politically active poets. If you are reading this and are interested let me know. You have my email.

In other news Gov Mcgreevy of NJ is gay and quitting. Its kind of sad that he is quitting. NJ is no stranger to corruption and I think they would have looked the other way on a lot of corruption stuff. He is still the first one ever though, I guess it means something until Nov 15. The blackmail thing is wierd, his affair was with a political israeli poet. Leave it to a poet to do some out of character underhanded sh*t, that fucks up democratic politics. I wanna hear a poem.
