09/07/2004 Entry: "trying to regain a summer"
This summer has gone by so fast that I have spent the last two weeks trying to regain a bit of it at the last moment. It's September so summer should be over but I refuse to give up. This summer was so nasty and rainy. It only got Ok in the last few weeks. My hope is that the fall will be like a second summer. We went to the beach this weekend for the first time this summer, had a great time with Ishle and Dave. Point Pleasant rocks, wouldn't mind having a house out there. It's a way better boardwalk than Coney Island. Dave won a pimp hat at one of those water contests. I have been having a good couple of weeks. I am going to be able to hire all of the people that I want to and I'm really excited about the things that are going to happen this fall.
RNC sucked, I know there are so many things that didn't make the news and never will, just like with the protests before the beginning of the war. Hate the RNC.
Got almost front row seats to the heavy hitter reading at St. Marks Church during the RNC. It was pretty Ok Mark Doty, Marie Ponsot, many academics. It was too heavilty white though. There were a few non white names on the schedule but it was only Cornelius Eady and Sapphire at the reading. It was super crowded and hot but a really important symbolic event.
I think I may film one of my short film scripts next week. I may need some volunteer crew. I'll let you know.
