09/29/2004 Entry: "debates approach"

So I have been watching a lot of the news lately. I'm not buying what they are saying about Bush being ahead in the polls by 10 points and all of that. The fact is that the pollsters only ask a small group of people that they say statistically vote. This ignores all of the new voters and all of the people who have been angered by the actions of W. I think we will have a high voter turn out this year and John Kerry will win a decisive victory, not because he is John Kerry but because Bush has messed up. The incumbent is always the one that wins or loses a race. It matters little who he is up against. The pundits and pollsters want to feel important. That's cool I just don't think it's gonna go that way.

On all of the attention the debates are getting I'm not sure who is going to "win", there really is no clear winner in a presidential debate because they never really bring out any real issues. It's reeally about who can get away with saying the least and looking the best without slipping up. I was on the Forensics team in my high school and I really liked it, I'm going to try and start teams in the High schools I work in. The debates there are very different. You actually take a stand on an issue and argue it out, or you do what I did and memorize a piece and try to make the audience laugh. Good times. Why say all that, just because I am excited and nervous about this years elections, I am voting for Kerry but have bought French language tapes just in case he loses.

Today's song of the day is "American Idiot" by Green Day. GREEN DAY, yes green day. Just hear it out. You may like it.
